We used design development, plus some value engineering, to meet the client’s budget. Both buildings are of steel frame, and Heathfield has two levels of parking, providing 200 space at lower levels. Floors are concrete, and external walls rendered blockwork, brick and facing block.

Safety was key on this project. The sites were surrounded by academic buildings and student facilities, which continued to function throughout. There were also other building projects, and high levels of co-operation were necessary with the University and others.
