We won this project through a two stage tender process, on the basis we could use an advanced timber frame system.

This met the client’s wish to achieve higher standards by making greater use of MMC and offsite construction. And it also enabled us to team up with our sister Timber Systems Division.

We used a large format, insulated closed panel, with all windows and external doors installed.

We prefabricated roofs at ground level and craned them into place, along with the wall and floor panels. Benefits of this approach included:

• Wind and watertight in a day
• Improved integrity of insulation
• Improved air-tightness
• Internal service zone formed
