A speculative development, Union Plaza provides 12,000 sqm of Grade A office space over seven floors, with 230 underground parking spaces. Our team was comprehensively involved from day one, fulfilling many of the client roles as well as that of Main Contractor.
On this brownfield city centre site, service diversions and deep excavations extending to the site boundary were required. Soil nailing was installed and the lower levels constructed in in-situ and Pre-cast concrete. Above ground the building is steel framed with concrete floors and with built up rendered walling and extensive use of glazing systems. Due to the site restrictions, we used a ‘scaffoldless’ construction method.
This impressive building has proved very popular with tenants, and was awarded a 2008 Commendation by Aberdeen Civic Society. |
